It’s a dusty job, and our clothes usually have a few spots of white or yellow paint on them by the end of the day. We keep all our ladders and brushes and tins of paint tucked away, but it always feels like there is more stuff than space. Egipura is a crowded place, so navigating the narrow streets with all our equipment can be a bit of a challenge. We start early because the sun gets too hot in the afternoon to be painting outside walls. Most of the time, we are out at different sites, but this is where we come back to clean the brushes and figure out the next day's schedule. It isn't a big corporate setup, just a group of us who know how to handle a brush and a roller. We listen to the bells from the temple nearby while we work on our plans. Sometimes the rain slows us down and we just have to sit and wait it out. That’s just part of being a painter around here. We just do the work that comes our way and try to keep things simple and get the walls covered.
