City Batteries

City Batteries is located over in Malleshwaram, specifically on the Gandhinagar Bavla Road in the Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad at 300/1. If you have ever been to Ahmedabad, you know how the heat can really take a toll on everything, especially car batteries. We spend our days surrounded by heavy lead and acid, and our hands are almost always black from handling the terminals. The shop is on a very busy stretch of road, so there is a constant stream of dust and exhaust coming in. We have a lot of regular customers who come by when their bikes won't start in the morning. It is heavy work, lifting these things all day, and our backs usually hurt by the time we close up. The office is just a corner with a desk that has seen better days and a stack of old ledgers. We don't have a computer system that works half the time, so we still write a lot of things down by hand. There is a tea stall nearby that brings us glasses throughout the day, which is the only way we stay awake during the slow afternoon hours. We keep a lot of stock piled up against the walls, so there isn't much room to move around. It is just a honest shop where we fix what is broken and sell what people need to get moving again.
