Bushra Power Tools

If you’ve ever been to Sadar Patrappa Road, you know it’s one of the busiest places you could ever find yourself in. We are at number 5, right near Gautam Park. Bushra Power Tools is basically a narrow shop filled from floor to ceiling with drills, grinders, and all sorts of electric gear. It gets really crowded on SP Road, especially in the afternoons when the sunlight hits the pavement and everyone is rushing. We have to keep our stock close together because space is tight. You can hear the constant honking of scooters and the shouting of loaders outside our door all day long. Sometimes it’s hard to hear a customer over the noise, so we end up pointing at things a lot. Gautam Park is a nice little bit of green nearby, though we don't get much time to sit there. Most of our day is spent unboxing new shipments or testing a motor to see if it’s running right. The walls are a bit stained from years of grease and dust, but it gives the place a lived-in feel. We don’t use any computers for the sales, just a big ledger where we write everything down by hand. It works for us. The front of the shop is always a bit of a mess with empty boxes waiting to be picked up by the recycling guys. We just try to keep a path clear for the customers to walk through.
