Bombay Auto Corporation

We have our shop at number 20 on H Siddaiah Road. Bombay Auto Corporation has been in this neighborhood for a long time. If you walk down this street, you'll see a lot of places like ours, but we've got our own way of doing things. The shop is filled with parts for all sorts of vehicles. It smells like oil and old metal inside, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we have to use a shaky ladder to get things down. It’s a bit disorganized if I'm being honest, but we usually know which pile a part is in. The street outside is always full of mechanics and delivery drivers. It is a loud and busy part of town, and we fit right in. We don't have any fancy uniforms or a polished showroom. We just wear our regular clothes and get our hands dirty. Sometimes a customer comes in and we don't have exactly what they need, so we have to call around to see who does. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and checking old catalogs. It gets dusty with all the traffic on H Siddaiah Road, so we have to wipe down the boxes every couple of days. We keep a ledger for everything we sell, mostly handwritten because it's easier than messing with a computer when your hands are oily. It’s not a high-tech operation, but it’s been working for years now.
