Bharath Fritz Werner Ltd, or BFW as many call us, is located near Platinum City in Yeshwanthpur, just off Tumkur Road. It’s a big site, and we’ve been here for a long time. Even though we are a larger name in the machine tool world, the day-to-day feel inside the gates is just people working on big machines. Tumkur Road is always busy with trucks and buses, so getting into the office in the morning is a bit of a challenge. Once you’re inside, though, it’s all about the machines. We build the things that build other things—milling machines, lathes, and all that kind of stuff. It’s heavy work and it takes a lot of coordination between the different teams. There’s always the sound of metal being cut or cranes moving parts around the floor. We have a lot of different departments, but everyone is pretty much focused on getting the machines right. Sometimes things go wrong on the assembly floor, or a part doesn't arrive on time, and we have to scramble to fix the schedule. It’s just part of the job in manufacturing. We don't have any fancy speeches about what we do. We just make machines that work. Many of the people working here have been with the company for decades, so there's a lot of shared history and experience. It’s a busy, noisy, and productive place to be, right in the middle of Yeshwanthpur’s industrial hub. We just keep building and moving forward.
