Our office is situated at Jayamahal Extension, right near the bus stand on 1st Main Road. It’s a very busy part of Bangalore, being so close to the GPO area too. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all day long, and there is a constant stream of people walking past our building. Bharat Fitz is basically a place where we handle a lot of fittings and industrial parts. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and those big windows that let in some light but also a lot of the street noise from the traffic. We have rows of shelves stacked high with boxes, and it can be a bit of a maze sometimes if you don't know where things are kept. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving stock around or checking through manifests on clipboards. It isn't the quietest place to work, especially with the 1st Main Road traffic right outside, but it keeps us busy. We usually take our breaks when the midday heat gets a bit much, and you can usually find one of us near the entrance just watching the crowd at the bus stand for a few minutes while we drink some water. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the walls; we just have lists of parts and a calendar to keep track of the days and the deliveries. It’s just us doing our jobs in the middle of the city's hustle and bustle.
