Battery Spot

Battery Spot is located at 228 Banneraghatta Road Hill Road. It’s a small shop but we keep a lot of stock packed in there. If you walk in, you’ll see batteries stacked up almost to the ceiling. We deal with all sorts, mostly for cars and bikes, but some for home backups too. The air in here always smells a bit like lead and acid, which is just part of the job. We spend most of our time testing old batteries to see if they can be saved or if they’re just dead. People usually come in when they're in a hurry because their car won't start. It’s a stressful time for them, so we just try to get them sorted out quickly. We don't use any fancy sales talk. If a battery is gone, it's gone. We show them the meter and that's that. Sometimes we have to go out and help someone jump-start a vehicle nearby. Banneraghatta Road is always crowded, so getting anywhere takes time. We’ve been at this spot for a while and the locals know us. We aren't trying to change the world, just keeping people’s electronics and engines running. It’s heavy work, lifting those blocks all day. My back usually aches by evening, but it’s a living. We keep the shop open late because that is when people usually realize they have a problem. We also handle some scrap recycling for old units.
