Bangalore Hospital

Finding us at South End Circle is usually pretty easy since everyone knows the landmark, but once you get to the building on RV Road, you have to remember we are up on the third floor. Number 202 is the spot. Basavanagudi has changed so much over the years, with new shops and more cars than the old streets can really handle, but this corner stays pretty much the same. The lift works fine most of the time, though it’s a bit small if a few people are trying to go up at once. Sometimes it is just quicker to take the stairs if you aren't carrying much. Up on the third floor, it’s a bit quieter than the street level where all the buses honk. We’ve set things up simply. There are chairs for people to wait and a desk where we keep the records. It’s an older part of Bangalore, so there’s a certain way things happen here. People walk in from the neighborhood, often folks who have lived in Basavanagudi their whole lives. We know the local shops and the people running them. It isn't a massive corporate setup with hundreds of shiny gadgets. It is just a hospital where we try to keep things organized and help the people who come in. The windows look out over the trees lining RV Road, which is nice during the monsoon when everything turns bright green. We’ve been here a long time and expect to stay for more.
