You can find us over at number 14 on Jaya Chamarajendra Road, though most people just call it JC Road. If you’ve ever been here, you know it’s the hub for anything related to vehicles. The street is always loud with horns and people unloading crates from trucks. Bangalore Battery Corporation has been in this mix for a long time. Our shop floor is usually covered with batteries of all sizes, from the small ones for bikes to the heavy-duty ones for trucks. It gets a bit dusty because of all the construction and the traffic right outside the door. There’s a specific smell to the place, a mix of old metal and plastic, that you just get used to after a week. We don't have a fancy showroom; it’s more of a practical workspace where we test things and move stock around. Sometimes customers come in frustrated because their car won't start, and we just try to get them sorted out without making a big deal of it. The guys in the back are usually busy with charging units or checking connections. We drink a lot of coffee from the guy who walks around with a kettle. It’s a busy life on JC Road, and there isn't much downtime from morning until we pull the shutters down in the evening. Most of the time we are just wiping grease off our hands and answering the phone.
