We are located at 53/1 on 1st Avenue in Banaswadi, right in the Bommanahalli area. If you come by Balaji Lubricants, you’ll see plenty of blue and red drums stacked up near the entrance. The air always has that heavy, oily scent to it, which you eventually stop noticing after working here for a week. We spend a lot of time handling barrels and smaller cans, so our clothes usually end up with a few dark spots by the end of the shift. The floor can be a bit slick, so we have to be careful where we step. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Usually, people just pull up their trucks or bikes, and we get them what they need from the back. The traffic on the main avenue can be a real headache, especially during the morning rush. We often stand at the door watching the cars crawl by while we wait for the next delivery. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in tracking all the different types of oils, and the ledger on the desk is getting pretty thick. It’s just us doing our thing, making sure the local mechanics and drivers have the lubricants they need to keep their engines running. It’s not glamorous, but it’s steady work and we like the people we meet.
