Balaji Grapes

Balaji Grapes is run out of No. 52 on the 6th Main in Yelahanka New Town. It is a residential area that has turned into a busy commercial spot over the last few years. We focus on grapes and our life revolves around the seasons of the fruit. When the harvest is on, things get very hectic and we are working from before dawn until long after the sun goes down. The rest of the year is a bit slower but there is always something to do with maintenance or planning for the next crop. Our place on 6th Main is where we coordinate everything and sometimes we have fruit coming in and out all day long. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that because grapes are meant to be eaten not looked at in a glass case. Most of our neighbors are used to the crates being moved around and the trucks stopping by occasionally. We are just a local operation and we try to stay honest about what we have available. If the grapes are sweet we tell people and if the season wasn't great we are honest about that too. It is a simple way to do business and it has served us well so far. We enjoy the work even when it is physically tiring because there is something good about working with fresh food every day and seeing people enjoy it.
