Babitha Garment

You have to head up to the second floor of the Narayan Murthy Building to find us at Babitha Garment. It’s located at number 8/1 on Vijinapura Road, right across from the Tata Steel Yard. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of exercise every day, especially when the elevator is acting up, which happens more than we'd like. The workspace is filled with the sound of sewing machines and the smell of fresh fabric. We have rolls of cloth stacked against the walls and threads of all different colors scattered around the tables. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes, but we know where everything is. The steel yard across the road is always busy with big trucks, so there’s a lot of activity to watch from the windows. We’ve been operating from this building for a while now, and most of our staff have been with us since the start. It’s not a fancy showroom; it’s a place where work actually gets done. We spend most of our hours cutting, stitching, and checking the pieces before they go out. Sometimes the lights flicker when the heavy machinery next door kicks in, but we just keep going. It’s a practical space for a practical job. We don’t have much in the way of decor, just some calendars and a clock that’s five minutes fast.
