Auto Castings

We are over on Millers Tank Bund Road. It’s tucked away near Quintessence Dental Solutions in the Malleshwaram area. This part of Bangalore still has some of that old feeling, even with all the new buildings going up. Our place is full of molds and heavy metal parts. It’s a heavy business. The air stays warm inside because of the nature of casting work. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and making sure everything is lined up right. It’s not a clean environment. You’re going to get some soot on your clothes if you stay too long. We have an old desk with a lot of loose papers and drawing files. My brother and I usually handle the day-to-day stuff. Sometimes the power fluctuates and we have to pause everything, which is frustrating, but that’s life in the city. The road outside can get narrow with parked cars, making deliveries a bit of a headache. We just make it work. There’s a big tree near the entrance that gives us some shade in the afternoons. Most of our regulars just walk in and know where to find us. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. We just do the casting work and keep the foundry going. It's what we know how to do, day in and day out. We just keep our tools sharp and our heads down. It’s a long day.
