Ass. Teacher

I spend most of my time at Raju P.R Ktg High School near the Heganahalli Cross in Bangalore. Being an assistant teacher here means my days are full of noise, books, and trying to keep kids focused. It’s a busy spot in the 91 area of the city. Traffic is always a mess outside, but inside the gates, it’s all about the lessons. I’ve been working with the staff here for a good while. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we make do with what we’ve got in the classrooms. My morning starts early, usually trying to beat the worst of the Bangalore congestion to get to the school on time. There’s a lot of marking papers and preparing for the next day's subjects. I don’t think of myself as some big expert, just someone who knows how to explain things to teenagers. The students are a mix of all sorts, and they keep me on my toes. After school finishes, I’m usually still there for a bit, cleaning up or talking to parents who stop by. It’s a steady life. I don’t have a big marketing pitch for what I do. It’s just teaching, day in and day out. Sometimes it's tiring, especially when the weather is muggy, but seeing a student finally understand something makes it alright. I live nearby, so this neighborhood feels like home to me now. It's a lot of responsibility but I just take it one day at a time.
