Art Materials

You can find Art Materials over at 26 A 8 Race Course Road. We’re tucked into Srikanta Layout in Kumara Park, specifically in High Grounds on the 2nd Main. We are right behind Bharath Seva School, so we hear the kids playing during their breaks. Our shop is full of all sorts of things like brushes, paints, canvases, and pencils. It’s not the most organized place in the world. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes you have to move a box of charcoal to find the right shade of blue. We’ve been in this spot for years. The neighborhood is nice and quiet compared to the main roads. We aren't artists ourselves, mostly, but we know a lot about the stuff artists use. People come in looking for specific types of paper or a certain kind of glue, and we usually know exactly which pile it’s hidden in. It’s a bit dusty in the corners, but that’s just how it is when you have thousands of small items. We don't do any big advertising. Usually, it’s just students from the school or local painters who know we’re back here. We spend our days unpacking shipments and helping people figure out what might work for their project. It’s a slow-paced kind of place. We like it that way. We just keep the shelves stocked and stay behind the counter ready to help whoever walks through the door.
