Arjun Life Style Appliances is on Subedar Chatram Road, or SC Road as most people call it around here. We are specifically at number 12, right near the 5th Cross. Being on such a major road means there is never a dull moment outside our windows. You hear the buses and the honking all day long, but you sort of stop noticing it after a while. Our shop is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s filled with all sorts of items boxed up and ready to go. Sometimes the stacks get a bit high and we have to be careful walking through the aisles. We don't really bother with fancy displays or trying to look like a showroom in a mall. It’s more about having what people need and knowing where it is kept. The light in the back is a little dim, so we usually do our main work up front where the sun comes in. Most days it’s just about answering the phone and helping whoever walks through the door. Some people come in just to ask for directions since SC Road is so long and confusing for visitors. We don't mind. We've lived and worked in this area long enough to know it like the back of our hands. It’s a practical place for practical work. We keep the kettle going for tea in the afternoon, and that’s about as fancy as it gets for us.
