Arihant Kitchenware

Our shop, Arihant Kitchenware, is located in Jayanagar 9th Block, at house 1813. It’s a busy part of the neighborhood. We sell all kinds of things for the house, mostly stuff for the kitchen. You will see stacks of stainless steel plates and different sizes of pressure cookers when you walk in. I took over this place years ago. It’s crowded inside because we try to keep a lot of stock. If a customer wants a specific size of a kadai or a tawa, I want to have it ready for them. Jayanagar is a nice place to have a business because people have lived here for a long time. They know where to go when their mixer grinder stops working or they need a new lid for a pot. We also do some minor repairs if the handle of a pan comes loose. It’s not a shiny showroom. There are boxes piled up in the corners and the aisles are a bit narrow. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually get there. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter or helping someone pick out a gift for a wedding. It’s a straightforward business. We don't do much advertising, just word of mouth from people who live nearby. It’s been this way for a long time, and we like the routine of opening up every morning and seeing who comes in. It gets noisy with the traffic outside but we are used to it.
