Koramangala is a busy area, always something going on outside, but inside we try to keep it steady. We have people staying with us for a week or sometimes a month at a time. It’s mostly folks who are new to Bangalore or here for some project. We provide the basics—a kitchen area, a bed, and some furniture. It’s not complicated. We spend a lot of our time checking people in and making sure the laundry is done. Sometimes the internet acts up or a bulb goes out, and we get it fixed as soon as we can. That’s just how it goes with running a building. We aren’t a giant hotel chain, so you’ll likely see the same two or three faces at the desk every day. We know the 9th Main road like the back of our hand, which helps when guests get lost trying to find the place. It’s a practical way to live if you don't want to deal with a full house rental. We just focus on keeping the place tidy and making sure everything is ready for the next person who shows up. It is a lot of work to keep things running, but we have a good rhythm going now.
