If you’ve ever tried to drive down Sarjapur Road during rush hour, you know what we deal with every morning. Amrita Institute Of Technology & Science sits right in the middle of all that Bangalore buzz near Kasavanahalli. We are located at numbers 26 and 27. It gets pretty loud with the horns honking outside, but once you get inside the gates, things settle down a bit. The students are always rushing around with their bags full of laptops and wires. We have a lot of labs here and there is usually someone trying to fix a piece of equipment that decided to stop working. The rain makes the ground near Bellandur quite muddy, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the floors. There isn't much quiet time. Between the classes and the projects, there is always someone asking a question or looking for a missing cable. We have a small canteen where the tea is okay if you get there before it sits too long. The staff rooms are cluttered with papers and old journals. It’s not a shiny office building, it’s a place where people actually do work. We stay late most evenings, waiting for the traffic to die down before heading home toward Carmelram. It’s just the way the day goes. You get used to the hum of the computers and the constant movement of people in the hallways. It’s a busy spot in a busy city.
