Altra Ideal Machine Tools

You can find us at the Capital Commercial Center on Jalahalli Ashram Road, at unit number 17. It’s a bit of a busy building with a lot of different offices and shops, but we’re tucked in there. We deal with machine tools, which basically means we spend our time looking at lathes, drills, and other equipment. It’s a bit different being in a commercial center rather than a standalone workshop, but it works for us. We have a lot of manuals and catalogs laying around because there are so many different types of tools out there to keep track of. People come in asking for specific parts or wanting to know which machine is best for a certain job they have. We don't have a big sales pitch. We just tell them what we know and show them what’s available in the shop. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, so we end up carrying things up and down the stairs ourselves. It’s a lot of technical stuff, but we try to keep it simple. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We’re just a small team in Jalahalli doing our thing. The road outside can get quite congested, so we usually get in early to beat the rush of traffic. It’s a steady pace of work, and we’ve gotten to know the other people in the center over the years. We just stay focused on the tools and helping the people who come in.
