Ali & Sons

Ali & Sons has its shop in Kumbarpet, specifically at Anand Mangal 1, 179. It is a small space but we manage to fit everything we need inside the walls. My father started things here and now we just keep it going day by day. Kumbarpet is always full of energy and people looking for all sorts of things. We deal with many different items depending on the season and what people are asking for when they walk in. The shop floor is usually a bit cluttered with boxes and supplies piled up in the corners. Our staff isn't big, it is mostly just family members helping out. We know the regular customers by their names and they know us too. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside the front door when it is not too hot. Finding number 179 isn't always easy for people who are not from around here because the lanes are quite narrow and winding. But once you find Anand Mangal 1, we are right there. No website or anything fancy like that exists for this shop. We just rely on people coming in and talking to us face to face. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard in the monsoon, but we just put a bucket under it and keep on working. It is just a normal shop doing normal things. No crazy promises are made, we just show you what we have on the shelves. It’s been this way for a long time.
