Air Force Technical College

The Air Force Technical College is located over in Jalahalli West, right by the PMC Officers Mess. It’s a busy area of Bengaluru, and you can feel the discipline as soon as you get near the gates. We deal with technical training here, and the atmosphere is pretty serious most of the time. People come from all over India to stay at AFTC and go through the programs. The campus has been around for a long time, so some of the buildings look their age, but they are kept up well. You’ll see a lot of officers and staff moving around throughout the day, going from one building to another. It’s a bit away from the main city traffic of Bangalore, which is nice. There’s a lot of equipment and specialized rooms for the technical work that needs to be done. The mess is where everyone gathers to eat and take a break from the long hours of training. It’s a tight-knit environment because everyone is living and working in the same area. The weather in Jalahalli is usually decent, which makes the outdoor drills or walks between departments a bit easier to handle. It’s a functional place, meant for work and learning, without any unnecessary extras. Things run on a very strict clock here, and you just get used to that way of life after a few days. The nearby mess hall is the main social spot for everyone stationed on the grounds.
