Active Luminaries

Active Luminaries is situated on 18th Cross, just off Kilari Road in the Balapet Cross area. This part of Bangalore is extremely busy, especially because it’s a hub for all kinds of electrical goods and hardware. We are located near the Anjaneya Temple, which is a major landmark for anyone trying to navigate these narrow streets. Our shop is filled with all sorts of lighting fixtures, from basic bulbs to more decorative pieces. It’s often quite crowded inside because we have a lot of stock squeezed into a relatively small space. The noise from the street is constant, with bells, horns, and people shouting, but that is the energy of Kilari Road. We spend our time helping customers pick out what they need for their shops or homes. We also deal with a lot of wholesale buyers who come from other parts of the state. It is a very hands-on business. We test the lights right there in front of the customer to make sure everything is working before they leave. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but we have a system that works for us. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other shopkeepers on the cross. It is a traditional way of doing business, face to face, every single day. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and the customers happy.
