Yugen Spices Private Limited

Our office is on the third floor over in Muneshwaraswamy Layout. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs since there isn’t a lift in this building. Being in Egipura, we are right in the middle of everything in Bangalore, but tucked back enough that the main road noise isn't too bad. We deal with spices, so you can usually smell us before you see the door at No. 14/1. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes by the end of the shift. We have a few rooms where we keep the different blends and a small space near the window for doing the billing. The light is okay in the afternoons, but we have to keep the fans going because it gets stuffy with all the bags stacked up. We aren't a huge operation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who know how to handle the inventory. We spend a lot of time weighing out portions and sealing bags by hand. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we see the same people walking their dogs every day. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow lanes of Viveknagar, but we manage to get things moved eventually. It’s just a regular spice business where the floors are a bit dusty and the work is constant. We keep a radio playing softly in the corner to pass the time.
