Our spot is at 271/9 in the Katte Hosurui area, specifically in MG Koppal in Mysore. Spice Hive Food Private Limited is what the sign says. If you walk past, you can usually smell whatever we are grinding that day. The spice dust gets everywhere, even on our shoes. We spend a lot of time in the back room where the work actually happens. It’s a bit of an old building and the walls could probably use some paint, but it works for what we need. We handle the spices and make sure they are packed up correctly. It’s not a very quiet job because the machines make a bit of a racket when they are running. We are a small team and we don't bother with fancy titles or anything. We just focus on the food products we handle. The neighborhood in Mysore is pretty relaxed. We start early when it's still cool outside. By the time the afternoon sun hits MG Koppal, we are usually finishing up the heavy lifting. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are always stained from the turmeric or chili. We don't have a big mission statement. We just show up and do the work that needs doing at our address in Karnataka. Sometimes we sit outside for a minute to get some fresh air. It’s a steady routine that keeps us all going throughout the week.
