Working out of an apartment isn’t always what people expect, but it works for us at Smatia Technologies Private Limited. We are located in Flat 10 of the Sundher Paradise Apartments at 174, 4th Cross in A Block of AECS Layout. It’s a residential area in Kundalahalli, so things are usually pretty calm around here compared to the main roads of Bengaluru. Our office is basically a flat that we’ve converted into a workspace with desks and some chairs. It’s got a homey feel, and sometimes you can hear the neighbors’ kids playing outside or someone cooking lunch next door. We like being in AECS Layout because it’s a bit away from the heavy chaos of the city center. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, which is a rare thing in Bangalore. We don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or trying to look like a big multinational firm. We’re just a small team of people who know how to handle technology and want a comfortable place to do it. The flat gets good light in the mornings, which makes starting the day a little easier. We’ve got a small balcony where we sometimes stand to get some fresh air when we’ve been staring at the monitors for too long. It’s a simple, honest way to run a business without all the unnecessary stress of a corporate park. We just focus on the task at hand and keep things moving forward.
