Being based in Whitefield means we deal with a lot of traffic, but once you get inside Prestige Mayberry, it’s actually quite peaceful. Fintermix Software is located at Villa No 32, which gives us a bit more room to breathe than a standard office block. We’ve been here in Bangalore for a bit, working on different software bits and pieces. It’s a bit of a mix of people—some of us are into the heavy backend stuff and others like making things look right on a screen. Nagondanahalli Main Road is right outside, so we see the city growing around us every day. We don’t have a big HR department or any of those corporate layers. If someone has an idea, they just say it while we’re waiting for the kettle to boil. The villa setup makes it feel less like a job and more like we’re just building things together. We usually have lunch at the big table and talk about things other than work, like cricket or whatever is new on Netflix. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, though we do get busy when a deadline is coming up. We try to keep things simple and honest. You won’t find any shiny brochures or rehearsed speeches here. We just focus on the task at hand and try to do a decent job of it before heading home for the day. It works for us and keeps the stress levels down.
