We are based out of D 15 in the Jain Swadesh Apartments on Subramanyapura Main Road. It’s a busy stretch in Vasanthapura, especially during the morning rush when everyone is heading towards the city. The apartment is part of the JHBS Layout, which is mostly families and small shops. Our space is just a regular residential unit where we’ve set up our Agrotech work. It’s not what you’d expect when you hear the word tech. There are no flashing lights or high-tech labs here, just a bunch of us at our desks working on ways to help farmers. The room is a bit small for all the stuff we have, so things are a little messy. You might see some prototype tools or just piles of research papers on the floor. We chose this location because it’s easy for us to get to, even if the traffic on the main road is a nightmare sometimes. The apartment complex is pretty quiet during the day, which helps us get things done. We usually eat our lunch together in the small kitchen area. It’s a very informal environment. We don’t wear suits or have big meetings with slides. We just talk about what needs to happen next and then we do it. It’s a simple way of running a business without all the corporate headaches. We’re just a small group trying to make things a bit easier for the people growing our food.
