Makkala Mantapa Higher Primary School

Makkala Mantapa Higher Primary School is situated on Cumming Road in Bellary. It’s an older part of the city, and the street can get quite busy during the day. Our school is a modest place where we focus on the primary grades. We have a lot of history in this building, and you can see it in the stone floors and the high ceilings. Bellary is known for being hot, and our classrooms can get quite stuffy in the afternoons. We do our best to keep things moving. The children come from all sorts of backgrounds in the neighborhood. We don't have any high-tech equipment, just the standard blackboards and chalk. Our staff has been here for a long time, and we know most of the families by name. It’s a tight-knit sort of environment. We have some space for the kids to play, though it’s not a proper field or anything like that. Just some open ground within the walls. We spend our days teaching the basics and making sure everyone follows the rules. It’s a simple life at the school. We aren't looking for any awards; we just want the students to learn what they need to. The noise of Cumming Road is always there in the background, but we don't really notice it anymore. It’s just how things are here at Makkala Mantapa.
