Down on Kudachi Road in Ugar Khurd, you’ll find us at 4-5-12/67. The Ugar Sugar Works Pvt Ltd is a place where there's always something going on. It’s a large site and we have a lot of different sections for the work we do. Most of the time, the noise of the machinery is just background sound to us. We’ve got a lot of people working here in different shifts. It’s a lot of responsibility keeping everything moving. The office part of the building is older, with heavy desks and a lot of ledgers. We don’t go for anything modern or flashy. It’s all about the production. During the peak season, the gates are always open for the loads coming in. It gets very busy and sometimes a bit overwhelming with the amount of work to do. We just take it one day at a time. The local area knows us well because we've been a fixture here for so long. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or fancy promises. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the equipment needs a lot of maintenance, which takes up a lot of our time and energy. The light in the hallway flickers occasionally, but we've gotten used to it. Everyone knows their job and we just try to get it done without too much fuss.
