The Oven Factory

Our workshop is at Plot No. 51/C in the Honaga Industrial Area. It is right near the Kamleshwar Mandir here in Belgaum. The Oven Factory is what we do. We build ovens for different uses. Big ones and small ones. It is very hot work, especially when we are testing them in the summer. We use a lot of metal and insulation materials. The sound of hammers hitting metal is pretty constant throughout the day. You get used to the noise after a few weeks. Sometimes we walk over to the temple during our lunch break. It is a quiet spot compared to the noise of the industrial area. Plot No. 51/C is where we spend all our time from morning till evening. We do not have a fancy showroom. Just the factory floor with all the tools. It is usually covered in bits of wire and metal shavings. We try to sweep up but it gets messy again fast. Belgaum weather is usually okay, but the rains can be a bit much for the roof. We have a small leak near the back door. We just put a bucket there when it pours. We are not a big corporation with fancy titles for everyone. We just know how to put things together. Most of our workers live in the nearby village. We have been doing this for a long time. It is practical work.
