Kamal Placement

Our office is inside Deepa Communication Centre. You have to ask for Manoj Ramsinghani when you arrive. We are right in the middle of Bail Bazar. Kurla West is a loud place. There is always a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our windows. Inside, Kamal Placement is just a small room with a few chairs and a wooden table. We spend our time talking to people who are looking for jobs. Some come in person, while others just call us on the phone. Manoj is usually busy with a lot of paperwork. It gets quite cramped when more than three people visit at once. Mumbai is always fast, so we try to keep up with the pace. Deepa Communication Centre has been around for some time, and people in the neighborhood know us well. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is lucky in this heat. We have files stacked up against the wall in no particular order. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out. It is an honest living for us. We see all kinds of people every day. Some are nervous about their future, and some are excited. We just do our bit. Bail Bazar is a landmark on its own, so we don't have to give too many directions. Just walk past the vegetable shops and look for the sign. We stay late most evenings to finish the data entry. It is just how things go here.
