Twisted Paratha

Twisted Paratha is tucked away on the first floor of the Sankalpa Hospital Building on Deshmukh Road. We are quite close to the 1st Railway Gate in the Tilakwadi area of Belgaum, so you can often hear the trains or the traffic waiting at the crossing. Being in a hospital building means we see a lot of doctors, staff, and people who are visiting patients, along with the local students from around Tilakwadi. We spend most of our time at the back, rolling out dough and working the tavas. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen, especially when we have several orders of parathas going at once. We chose this spot because it's central, even if being on the first floor makes us a little harder to spot from the street. We have a few tables for people who want to sit and eat quickly before heading back to work or catching a train. The building is busy and there is always someone coming or going. Our daily routine is mostly about prepping ingredients and making sure we don't run out of anything before the evening rush hits. We aren't trying to be a fancy cafe or anything like that. We are just a small shop making food for the people in our neighborhood. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but we just keep at it and focus on what’s on the stove every day.
