Organic Food Club

Our shop is at 203 Shukrawar Peth in Tilakwadi. It’s a nice enough spot, though parking can be a bit of a nightmare on the weekends. We started this place because we wanted to have a spot where people could find decent food items without all the extra stuff added in. The shelves are made of plain wood and we try to keep things tucked away neatly, though it often looks a bit cluttered when a new shipment of grains or produce comes in. We spend a lot of time talking to the folks who come in. Some of them have been visiting us since we first opened our doors. It’s not a supermarket; it’s more like a small community corner where you can actually hear yourself think. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns at the counter and restocking the bins. Sometimes the organic fruit doesn't look as perfect as the stuff in the big stores, but that’s just how nature works. We don’t spend money on big ads or anything. We just put a chalkboard out front with whatever arrived that morning. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the delivery vans are blocking the street. We’re just happy to be a part of the Tilakwadi neighborhood and keep things moving along at our own pace.
