We spend most of our time here at B11 in the Angol Industrial Area. It gets pretty loud in Udyambag once everyone starts their machines in the morning. Metofabrik has been in this spot for a while now. Most days it’s just us handling whatever metal work comes through the door. The shed is basic, nothing fancy to look at, but it works for what we do. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, trucks moving and people shouting over the noise. We usually have our tea outside near the entrance when things quiet down for a few minutes. It’s dusty work and by the afternoon everyone is usually covered in some kind of grease or grit. There’s a specific smell to this part of the industrial area that you just get used to after a week. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. People just walk in through the main gate and find us near the back machines. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It is a simple setup here at 680/1B. We just focus on getting the parts finished so they can be shipped out. The floor is always cluttered with scrap and tools, but we know where everything is. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t mind the heat and the constant banging of hammers. That is just how life goes here in Udyambag for us.
