Jay Architect

The workplace for Jay Architect is right at House Number 169 in Vishnu Galli, which is part of Vadagaon in Belgaum. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but that’s what makes it alright. Vishnu Galli is one of those narrow streets where everyone kind of knows each other. Being in the 590005 area means it’s a bit quieter than the main city center, though you still get the usual sounds of the neighborhood. The office is basically just a room in the house where we’ve set up our drawing boards and computers. It’s not some big corporate building with glass walls. It feels more like a home, which is fine by us. In the afternoons, you can hear the local sounds of people cooking or kids coming back from school. Sometimes a stray dog will be napping right outside the door. Belgaum weather can be nice, so we often have the door open to let some air in. It’s a simple way to work. We don’t have fancy signs or a big waiting area. People usually just knock and come in. It’s been this way for a while, and we like the directness of it. You don’t need much more than a solid desk and a good light to do this kind of work. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of environment for us every day. We just stay focused on what’s on the table and let the day pass, making sure the measurements and the details are as they should be.
