Meridian Computer Education

Meridian Computer Education is located in the Sharad Complex, right over by Shanti Towers near Change Gate. It is a handy spot because there are plenty of tea stalls nearby for breaks. We have a bunch of computers set up in a few rooms, and it is usually pretty quiet inside except for the sound of clicking and typing. Students come in at all hours, some early in the morning before work and others late after their classes. We try to keep the software updated, though sometimes the internet acts up like it does everywhere else in this part of town. The building is older, but it stays cool enough for the machines. We spend most of our day sitting with people, showing them how to navigate different programs or fix errors that pop up on their screens. It is not a high-pressure environment at all. We just want people to feel comfortable sitting in front of a monitor. There is a lot of clicking and dragging going on here every day. Sometimes the printer jams, and we have to spend twenty minutes fishing out bits of paper, but that is just part of the job. Most of us who work here grew up in the area, so we know the families who send their kids to learn. It is a good feeling when someone finally figures out a shortcut they did not know before. We are not fancy, just a few rooms with desks and cables everywhere.
