If you find yourself near Champalal Jain Bagichi or the Hero Honda showroom, you’ll see our sign for Chhtrsahem Cement Agency. It’s not a very big sign, but it’s been there for quite a while. We are a small agency. Most of our space is taken up by stacks of cement bags that go almost to the ceiling. It’s a heavy job, and by the end of the day, our backs usually let us know about it. We don’t have a lot of decorative stuff in the office. Just a calendar on the wall and a few chairs for visitors. The bagichi nearby is a nice touch, sometimes you can smell the trees if the wind blows the right way, which is a nice break from the smell of dry cement. We’ve seen the Hero Honda showroom next door get busy with people looking at new bikes, while we just keep moving our bags. It’s a different kind of pace here. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished look. We just make sure the stock is here when someone needs it. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic on the main road, and we just have to wait it out. We spend that time cleaning up or checking the inventory again. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, we do the work, and we go home to our families.
