If you head down Dhabwali Road, you’ll see our Milk Plant. That’s where The Bhatinda Distt.Coprative Milk Producer Union Ltd operates from. It’s a pretty large setup, but it’s mostly just us getting on with the day-to-day work. It starts early here, well before most people are even awake, with the milk coming in from all the local producers around the district. It’s a cooperative, so it feels more like a community project than some big fancy company. We spend a lot of time on our feet, making sure the machines are doing what they are supposed to. The air always smells a bit like fresh milk and machinery oil. It’s not the quietest place to work, especially when the trucks are lining up outside the gates, but we’re used to the noise by now. People stop by sometimes to ask about things, and we just point them to the right office. We don’t have any polished lobby or anything like that. It’s a working plant. We have been at this address for quite some time, and the building shows its age in places, but it works for what we need. It’s just how things are done here in Bhatinda. We focus on the collection and getting the milk processed without too much fuss. Every day is pretty much the same routine, which is fine by us. We just keep the wheels turning on Dhabwali Road.
