Geotech Solutions has its shop at number 155 in the New Grain Market. It might seem a bit strange to have a technical business in the middle of a grain market, but it works for us. The area is always full of tractors and bags of wheat, so it’s quite a noisy and busy environment to work in every day. Inside Shop No. 155, we have our tools and various bits of equipment spread out over several workbenches. It’s not the cleanest office you’ll ever see because we are always tinkering with things and there’s always a bit of grease or dust around. We spend a lot of time looking at technical drawings or trying to fix a piece of machinery that someone brought in. The air in the market can be thick with the smell of grain and diesel fumes, so we usually keep the door half-shut. We don don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the gear. Most of the people who drop by are farmers or traders from the market who need something looked at or fixed quickly. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we are here between the other stalls. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and there’s never a dull moment with everything that goes on in the market outside our front door.
