S.S Point

Our shop, S.S Point, is right in the Lohiya Nagar Main Market in Basti. If you know where the Basti Railway Station Gate No.1 is, we’re just a short walk from there. Being so close to the station means we get a lot of people passing by who are just getting off a train or waiting for one. The market is always crowded and noisy, with sellers calling out and cycles weaving through the crowds. We’ve been in this same spot for quite a while now. The shop itself is small, packed with all kinds of items on the walls and under the counters. We don't have a lot of floor space, so things tend to get a bit cluttered. We mostly sell everyday goods that people need in a hurry. It’s a family-run business, and usually, there’s at least two of us behind the counter to handle the rush. We don't use any high-tech systems. We just remember prices and use a simple calculator for the totals. Sometimes we run out of change, which can be a bit of a hassle when the trains just arrived. We open early for the commuters and stay open late for those coming home on the night trains. It’s a tired-looking place if you look closely at the paint, but it’s home to us. We know most of the regulars by name and always have time for a quick word. It works for us.
