Down in Rajpur Barendra Para, you will find our small setup. It’s a local spot that mostly feels like a workshop. We have a handful of desks with old monitors and keyboards that have seen a lot of use over the years. The walls are a bit scuffed and there are wires running along the baseboards to various power points. It’s the kind of place where the air smells a bit like warm plastic and ozone because the computers are running all day long. We don’t have any fancy signs or bright lights, just a simple door that stays open during the day to let in whatever breeze we can get. Barendra Para is a relatively quiet neighborhood, but you still hear the occasional rickshaw bell or someone calling out from the street. People come in when they have trouble with their machines or if they need to get something printed out quickly. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting software or trying to get an old printer to stop jamming. It’s a lot of sitting and clicking, and sometimes the power goes out, which means we all just sit around and wait for it to come back on. We aren’t a big corporation, just a couple of guys who know how to work a computer, helping out whoever walks through the door. Dreams Computer Zone might be small, but it keeps us busy from morning to night. There is a stack of old magazines on the table for people to look at while they wait.
