Timir Mandal

Timir Mandal here. I work out of Purnima Apartment on the first floor, which is number 52. It is right on Swami Swarupananda Sarani. People usually find it easily because the Italgacha Post Office is just a short walk away. I have been in this part of Kolkata for a long time now. The building is older, but it is sturdy enough for what I do. Most days, I am just here at my desk, looking through papers or talking to people who drop by for a bit. It gets a bit noisy during the day when the traffic picks up outside, but you get used to that sound after a while. The first floor is nice because you don’t have to climb too many stairs to get to the door. I try to keep things simple and organized, though sometimes the stacks of folders on my table get a bit high. Living and working in the same general area means I see a lot of the same faces every day. It feels like a small community even though Kolkata itself is so huge. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but that is just how things are around here. I have a few chairs for visitors and a big wooden table that has seen better days. It does the job, though. I usually start quite early before the sun gets too hot. It is quieter then. If you are looking for the place, just find the post office.
