Paradise Academy is located in a place called Hamidi, which is in the Barnala district. It’s a bit of a quieter area compared to the big cities, and you can feel that when you walk around. The academy is a simple building, nothing too grand, but it serves the purpose for the people living nearby. Many of our students come from families that have lived in Hamidi for generations. We have basic classrooms with wooden benches that have been around for a long time. There is a lot of open space around us, so the air is a bit fresher than what you get in the middle of a town. We focus on the regular subjects that kids need to know, and we don’t try to make it more complicated than it is. The staff are mostly local people who understand the community here. In the winter, it gets quite cold, so everyone comes wrapped up in sweaters and shawls. During the harvest season, things get a bit quieter as some students are busy helping out at home. We don’t have a big website or a lot of fancy brochures; we just do our job day in and day out. It’s a place where kids can come to study without a lot of distractions. We try to keep things organized and make sure everyone is learning something useful. It’s a humble setup, but it’s what we have here in Barnala. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just keep teaching by the light of the windows.
