Ashoka Traders

Our shop, Ashoka Traders, is tucked away in Aarey Wali Gali. That’s a small lane off Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road. It can be a bit hard to find if you don't know the area, but if you find the Punjab National Bank, we are very close to there. The lane is usually pretty crowded with people walking and the occasional motorcycle trying to squeeze through. We deal with trading all sorts of things, so there are always boxes and bags being moved around. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying, which keeps us in shape I suppose. The air on Bhagat Singh Road is always full of noise and the smell of the city. We spend our days mostly inside the shop or standing out in the alley talking to suppliers. It’s a very old part of town and the buildings are close together. We don't have a lot of extra space, so we have to be very organized with how we stack our goods. The bank nearby means there is always a lot of foot traffic, which is good for us. We've been in this alley for a long time and we know all the other traders on the street. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name written up there. We just do our work, talk to our neighbors, and head home when the sun goes down.
