Surya Handicraft is located over in Khatriyo Ka Nichalawas in Barmer. It's a local spot, nothing fancy or over the top for the area. We've stayed in this neighborhood because it's where we belong and where our families are from. The workshop is usually filled with the sounds of tools and people talking over their work. Barmer has a very specific feel to it, and our shop is right in the middle of that daily rhythm. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone telling us what to do. It's just us working on the handicrafts every day from morning to night. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to work late into the evening just to stay caught up. The space is a bit cramped with all the materials we need for the work, but we know where everything is. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but there’s a real system to the mess. Most of the folks who come by are locals or people who heard about us from a neighbor down the street. We keep the doors open and try to stay busy with the projects. It gets quite dusty around here, especially when the wind picks up, so we’re always cleaning something. We just focus on getting the pieces done for the people who want them. There isn't much more to say than that. We are just a small business in Barmer trying to do the work. It's a simple life, and the work keeps us grounded here in this community.
