Navin Bal Vidya Mandir

Navin Bal Vidya Mandir is out here in Rawatsar, along the Barmer Sindhari Road. If you know the Barmer area, you know it’s a bit dry and dusty, but we make the best of it. Our school is a place for the kids from the village and nearby areas to come and learn. It’s a modest building. We have the classrooms laid out, and a bit of a yard where the kids can run around. It gets very hot during the day, so we try to get most of the heavy work done in the mornings. We aren't a big, fancy school with a lot of money. We rely on the local teachers and the support of the parents here in Rawatsar. Most days are pretty much the same—lessons, a break for food, and then more lessons until it's time to head home. We focus on reading, writing, and the regular subjects they need. We don’t have a lot of extra stuff, but we have the essentials. The school is a big part of the local community. Parents often stop by the gate to chat or ask about their kids. We try to keep things honest and simple. It’s about giving the kids a chance to learn something useful. We’ve been at this for some years now, and we just keep going, day by day, in this corner of Barmer. There's always sand to sweep away, but that's just life here.
