Barmer Agro Gum Industries

Barmer Agro Gum Industries is located right in the industrial area, just across from the Krishi Mandi. It’s a loud place most of the time because of the heavy machines, but we’re used to it. We spend our days dealing with various agro products, mostly gum. The sun gets really hot out here, especially in the afternoons when we’re loading up the trucks. We started small and just kept at it. There’s no secret to it, just showing up and doing the work. Sometimes the raw material isn't as good as we’d like, so we have to spend extra time sorting through things. We don't have shiny brochures or a fancy website. If someone needs to talk to us, they usually just pull up to the gate. The crew here is mostly local folks who have been around for a long time. We drink tea together in the breaks and talk about the weather or the crop prices. Dealing with the mandi across the street keeps us busy since there’s always something moving. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the bags and the dust, but that’s just part of the job. We try to keep the machines maintained, though they can be temperamental. It’s just a regular workplace where we try to do a decent job and head home to our families at the end of the shift. It’s been our way for years.
