Jagannath Bricks

Our brick kiln, Jagannath Bricks, is tucked away in Ward No. 16 of Raghunathpur. We are quite close to M.K.C. High School, so we often hear the school bell and the kids playing while we work. It is a local spot here in the Baripada area of Mayurbhanj district. We have been part of this community for a while, just doing the basic work of making bricks from the local earth. It is not a glamorous job, and the yard is usually a bit of a mess with piles of soil and finished bricks everywhere. We do not use any fancy marketing tricks or corporate language because that is just not who we are. We are just local people working hard to provide materials for the houses and walls being built nearby. The seasons really dictate our schedule; when the monsoon hits, things slow down quite a bit, and we just have to wait it out. In the dry months, the kiln is always burning, and there is smoke and heat everywhere. It is a tough way to make a living, but it feels right to be doing something useful for the neighborhood. People know where to find us if they need a load of bricks for a project. We do not have a big sign or a website, just the yard and our hands. It is a simple life in Raghunathpur, and we are happy to be a part of it.
