We’ve been running Kipps Exports out of 47 Civil Lines for quite some time now. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do every day. Most of the people working here have been with us for years, so we all know how the routines go. There’s always stuff piled up in the corners and the phone rings more than it probably should. We handle a lot of different orders and sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy, but we eventually find everything. If you come by the office, you’ll see we don’t really go in for fancy decorations or anything. It’s just desks, chairs, and a lot of boxes waiting to be sent out. We stay busy with the export side of things, dealing with suppliers and making sure things get on the trucks when they are supposed to. Sometimes there are delays because that’s just how it is in this business, but we deal with it. The neighborhood around Civil Lines is pretty quiet compared to the main market, which is nice. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to keep things moving and get the work done. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but we’ve gotten used to the pace of it. We don't spend much time on fancy websites or brochures. We just show up at the office and see what the day brings. Sometimes we have to hunt for a lost file for an hour, but we usually find it under a stack of papers.
